BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Following back-to-back 30-point performances, Sarah Lawrence sophomore Enike Anyia has been named Skyline Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday. Anyia becomes the first player in program history to earn Skyline Player of the Week recognition.

Anyia averaged 31.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Gryphons. The sophomore was instrumental in the squad's 98-96 victory at Farmingdale State, posting a game-high 32 points, tying Max Mallory (2011) for the most points in a single game in team history. Anyia is the third Gryphon to record 30 or more points in a game, joining Mallory and teammate BJ Sanders. The forward went 12-of-14 from the field, setting a new school standard for made field goals.

Most importantly, his effort fueled the Gryphons' first-ever win over the Rams.

Anyia followed up his performance against Farmingdale with another 30-point outing in an overtime loss to Old Westbury, becoming the first Gryphon ever to record 30 or more points in more than one outing. The sophomore reached the mark on 8-of-14 shooting while going 14-of-20 from the charity stripe, setting a school record in both categories.

Anyia has been spectacular in his second season at Sarah Lawrence. He has started in all 13 games, and leads the team in several categories, including points per game (17.3), field goal percentage (.635) and rebounds per game (9.2).

Sarah Lawrence is off to its best start in school history with a 7-6 record, including a 5-3 mark against Skyline opponents, the most conference wins in a season in team history. The Gryphons' seven victories thus far surpasses their win total from a year ago.
