NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence men's basketball team suffered an 83-61 loss at Mount Saint Mary Tuesday at Kaplan Recreation Center.

Enike Anyia, the Skyline Player of the Week, paced the Gryphons with 13 points on 50-percent shooting, while grabbing a team-best nine rebounds and blocking two shots.
Gabriel Eng and
Andrew Varoli finished with nine points apiece, each hitting a trio of 3-point field goals.
Austin Jones posted eight points, a game-high seven assists, and two steals, while
BJ Sanders contributed six points and eight rebounds.
Jelani Jackson scored a season-high six points, while
Omar Jamaleddine chipped in with five points and seven rebounds.
Ray McKenzie scored his first collegiate basket in the loss.
RECAP
Sarah Lawrence struggled from the field in the opening period, shooting just 33%. The Gryphons suffered a scoreless drought of 6:51 during the half, as Mount Saint Mary mounted a 30-7 lead with 9:47 remaining in the stanza.
Sarah Lawrence chipped away at the deficit, using a 17-4 spurt over 3:15 to shrink the margin to 12 (34-22). The run was fueled by the Gryphons' first-years, who accounted for 10 of the 17 points.
Mount Saint Mary concluded the final 6:32 of the half on a 12-3 run to hold a 46-25 lead at the break.
The Knights, who entered the day unbeaten at home this season, maintained their double-digit lead throughout the second half of play. Sarah Lawrence trimmed the deficit to 14 (56-42) with 12:51 left in regulation, but did not get any closer, as Mount Saint Mary secured the win in the first of two meetings between the two squads.
The Gryphons had an uncharacteristic shooting night, shooting just 37% for the game. Mount Saint Mary benefitted from being at home, making 56% of its shot in the win.
