Sarah Lawrence, who began the day 0-6 all-time against the Golden Eagles, scored the game's first goal in the 18th minute, when Niki Dalrymple found the back of the net off a feed from Tiffany McBrayer. The assist was McBrayer's 12th helper of the year, a new single-season record.

Lily Halloway scored her third goal of the year to give Sarah Lawrence a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute, taking advantage of miscommunication by the Golden Eagles' back line. Overall, the Gryphons showed efficiency on the offensive side of the ball in the opening frame, scoring a pair of goals on just three shot attempts.

Sarah Lawrence made it a 3-0 contest in the 72nd minute, when Dalrymple scored her second goal of the contest off a pass from Halloway. Dalrymple now has 38 points and 17 goals, both the second-most in a single season in program history.

St. Joseph's Long Island, who entered the game unbeaten at home (5-0-1), wiped away the Gryphons clean sheet in the 76th minute with a goal of Christina Galiardi. The score snapped the Gryphons streak of 225:15 without conceding a score.

Despite giving up the goal, the Gryphons turned in a strong performance defensively. Emily Cornejo picked up another victory in goal, making a season-high nine saves.
