FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team wrapped up its 2019 campaign on Thursday against Farmingdale State at George E. Nold Hall.

The two teams entered the match needing a victory to secure a spot in the Skyline Women's Volleyball Championship.
Farmingdale State, picked four spots ahead of Sarah Lawrence in the Skyline Preseason Poll, cruised to a 25-13 victory in the opening set for a 1-0 series lead.
Sarah Lawrence responded in the second set, rallying from a 21-16 deficit and scoring the final four points of the frame for a 25-22 victory and 1-1 series tie.
The Rams regained control of the series with a 25-14 win in the third set and a 25-16 decision in the fourth set to secure the match victory and playoff berth.
Clarise Steiner,
Lauren Kilroy and
Melanie Coleman posted four kills each, while
Gabrielle Hegedus paced the Gryphons in aces (3). Coleman finished with three total blocks, while
Davis Mathis handed out a team-best nine assists. Steiner finished with a match-high 31 digs, the second most digs in a four-set match in team history.
It was the final match of Kilroy's collegiate career. Kilroy will graduate as the program's all-time leader in digs (1,158) and aces (148), while ranking among the top-10 in points (370.5), assists (578) and kills (221).
Sarah Lawrence concludes the 2019 season 13-16, a seven-win improvement from 2018.
