PURCHASE, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence first years 
Demitra Loukopoulos and 
Ana Srdanovic finished with season-highs in points Tuesday, but it wasn't enough, as the Gryphons women's basketball team suffered a 71-57 loss to Purchase at Purchase College Gymnasium.

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMERS
Loukopoulos scored a team-best 18 points, highlighted by four 3-pointers. The rookie also grabbed a season-high nine rebounds while handing out three assists.
 
Srdanovic finished with 14 points, knocking down four 3-point field goals. The first year also set season-highs in rebounds (6) and assists (3).
 
Camryn Davis contributed 14 points, six rebounds and a team-high four steals, while 
Jordyn Medina chipped in with eight points, three assists and a season-best 15 rebounds. 
Bismillah Bath grabbed two rebounds in the loss.
RECAP
Purchase scored the first nine points of the game, opening up a 16-4 lead 5:44 into the contest. Sarah Lawrence battled back, finishing the quarter on an 8-1 run to shrink the margin to five (17-12) after one period of play.
 
The Gryphons used back-to-back field goals to start the second quarter to make it a one possession game (17-16), but the Panthers countered with a 9-2 run to extend their lead (26-18) with 5:54 on the clock. Sarah Lawrence closed out the half on an 8-2 spurt to make it 28-26 at intermission.
Sarah Lawrence cut the deficit to one (33-32) with 7:20 remaining in the third quarter, but were unable to get over the hump and score the go-ahead basket. Purchase maintained its lead, opening up a margin as large as 14 in the final frame to secure its first victory of the season.
Arta Krasniqi led the way for the Panthers, scoring a game-high 28 points, hitting seven 3-pointers. She also recorded five rebounds and seven blocks.
