Men’s Swimming Sets Third Relay Record on Day Two of Metropolitan Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's swimming team set the school record in the 200 medley relay Saturday on day two of the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers Aquatic Center. Through two days of competition, the Gryphons are in 10th-place among 14 teams with 161 points.

RELAY TEAM BREAKS A THIRD TEAM RECORD
One day after breaking team records in the 200 free and 400 medley relays, the group of Chaz Stafford, Mani Roshandel, Miles Washington and Anthony Lee once again teamed up to set a new school standard. The Gryphons finished 10th with a finals time of 1:40.28, edging out the group's previous record of 1:41.86.  

GRYPHONS PLACEWINNERS
Lee turned in a strong performance, finishing 12th in the 100 fly with a finals time of 52.31, a personal best. Washington finished in the 23rd position, touching the wall in 54.92, a new personal standard.

Stafford was the top swimmer (17th overall) in the 'C' final of the 200 free, recording a time of 1:46.36, a season best. Roshandel took the 21st position in the 100 breast, posting a time of 1:01.26, a personal record. 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Jacob Ringo set a new personal record in the prelims of the 200 free with a time of 2:02.99, a four-second improvement, while  Shaurya Chawla also posted a personal best in the event with a time of 2:26.19, a 10-second improvement.
