PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Sarah Lawrence women's swimming team turned in strong results on day two of the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers Aquatic Center. Through two days of competition, the Gryphons stand in 12th-place among 17 teams with 175 points.
GRYPHONS PLACEWINNERS
Devon Peal had the best finish of the day for the Gryphons. The senior finished fourth in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.24, a new personal record. Peal also took the 13th position in the 200 free with a time of 2:00.71, also a personal best.
Drew Lei-Alerta turned in a strong performance in the 100 fly, finishing 8th with a mark of 1:01.12. The Skyline Champion in the event, Lei-Alerta posted a time of 1:00.69 in the prelims, a season best.
Andrea Corbin took the 23rd position in the 400 IM with a finals time of 5:33.00. She posted a time of 5:30.72 in the preliminary heat, a personal record. Corbin also placed 23rd in the 100 breast with a finals time of 1:15.75. The sophomore recorded a prelim time of 1:15.06, a season best.
In the 200 medley relay, a team of Peal, Corbin, Lei-Alerta and Eimile Briggs finished 10th, recording a time of 1:57.70, a season best.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Audrey de Szendeffy posted a personal record in the 200 free with a time of 2:10.46, while Caitie Adler set a new personal standard in the 100 breast with a time of 1:16.05.
