Men’s Swimming Sets Three More School Records on Final Day of Metropolitan Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Sarah Lawrence men's swimming team broke three more school records on the final day of the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers Aquatic Center. The Gryphons finished the three-day meet 11th among 14 schools with 231 points.

FIRST-YEARS BREAKS OWN SCHOOL RECORD
Chaz Stafford finished 10th in the 1650 free, turning in a finals time of 16:42.57, lowering his previous team record performance of 16:50.86.

Mani Roshandel placed 21st in the 200 breast with a finals time of 2:15.30, surpassing his previous best of 2:17.28. The rookie initially reset the standard in the prelims with a mark of 2:15.92.

GRYPHONS POST FOURTH RELAY RECORD
In the 400 free relay, the team of Miles Washington, Stafford, Roshandel and Anthony Lee finished 10th with a finals time of 3:18.81. The group posted a time of 3:18.57 in the prelims, smashing the previous best of 3:22.86 set by Cameron Martinez, Lee, Jack Langland and Dawa Lama in 2016.

The foursome was fantastic over the course of the meet, re-writing the history book with four new team relay records.

GRYPHON PLACE WINNERS
Lee placed 12th in the 100 free, touching the wall in 47.41 in the final race. He finished in 47.28 in the prelims, a new personal record.
