NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence sophomore Enike Anyia added another accolade to his outstanding season on Wednesday, landing a spot on the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) All-Met Division III Third Team. Anyia is the first Gryphon in program history to earn the citation.

The forward receives All-Met recognition after becoming the first Gryphon in team history to garner Skyline All-Conference honors, earning First Team laurels. During the season, he was a two-time MBWA Division II-III Player of the Week recipient and two-time Skyline Player of the Year honoree.

Anyia, one of three underclassmen to earn All-Met Division III accolades, was the Gryphons' most consistent player, starting every contest with an average of 33.4 minutes per outing, seventh-best in the conference. The forward averaged 16.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, both among the top-10 in the Skyline, while his .598 field goal percentage was the best mark in the league. Anyia posted 10 double-doubles and seven games of 20 or more points, including three games of 30 or more, a program record.

Most importantly, Anyia led Sarah Lawrence to its best campaign in team history, setting records for wins (14), conference wins (12) and road victories (7). The Gryphons finished 14-12 overall, their first winning season in school history. Picked to finish ninth in the Skyline Preseason Poll, the Gryphons exceeded expectations, finishing as the No. 5 seed and earning a postseason berth for the first time in school history.

In just two seasons at Sarah Lawrence, Anyia has never missed a game. The sophomore has posted 764 points (15.0 ppg) and 430 rebounds (8.4 rpg) with a .568 field goal percentage, which all rank among the top-5 in the Gryphons record book.

Anyia is one of five players in the Skyline to earn All-Met laurels, joining Yeshiva's Gabriel Leifer and Ryan Turrell, Farmingdale State's George Riefenstahl and Matthew Graham, and Old Westbury's Alan McDonald.
