KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss Saturday to Merchant Marine at Brooks Stadium.

Merchant Marine, picked third in the Skyline Preseason Poll with one first-place vote, scored 4:48 into the match, as Nick Roros dribbled the ball upfield before finding the back of the net.
The Mariners scored again 2:26 before halftime, when Ryan Haines flicked in a header off a free kick from Sam McGill.
Merchant Marine scored two more goals in the second half. The Mariners made it a 3-0 contest in the 67th minute, when Zach Lysakowski had a wide-open look after an initial shot bounced off two Gryphons defenders. Lysakowski scored again in the 76th minute, finishing a cross from McCurnin.
The Mariners controlled possession much of the evening, outshooting the Gryphons 33-8, including a 13-4 advantage in attempts on target.
Sinjin Mendenhall put two shots on target for Sarah Lawrence.
