Men’s Soccer Tops Mount Saint Vincent, 1-0

YONKERS, N.Y. – Goalkeeper Aaron Ashery recorded a season-high 12 saves, leading the Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team to a 1-0 verdict over Mount Saint Vincent Wednesday at Fleming Field. With the win, the Gryphons improve to 4-4-1 overall with a 1-1-1 mark in Skyline play.

IN SHORT
Sarah Lawrence (4-4-1, 1-1-1) def. Mount Saint Vincent (1-6, 0-1), 1-0.

RECAP
Mount Saint Vincent controlled possession for much of the evening, outshooting Sarah Lawrence 19-6, including a 13-1 margin in attempts on frame. The Gryphons' back line held strong, highlighted by a save off the goal line by Jackson Linscott in the 18th minute.

The Gryphons' lone attempt on target proved to be just enough, as Tristan Moehs flicked in a header off a free kick from Dominic Edwards in the 58th minute for the game's only score.

Ashery was sensational in goal, making timely stops to keep the sheet clean. No stop was more important than his save in the 63rd minute, when the Dolphins drew a foul in the box for a penalty kick opportunity. The sophomore goalkeeper made a diving stop to his left side, preventing the equalizer.

It was victory No. 4 for Sarah Lawrence, as the Gryphons have now surpassed their win total from a season ago.
