RIVERDALE, N.Y. | The Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball team made its first-ever appearance in the Skyline Conference Championship semifinal round Thursday night at the Peter Jay Sharp Center, where the sixth-seeded Gryphons' season came to a close at the hands of second-seeded Purchase College, 81-67.
Head coach
Chris Ehmer's SLC side (12-15) received 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists from sophomore
Omar Jamaleddine, while senior big
BJ Sanders (1,096 career points) wrapped his storied Gryphons' career with a 17-point, game-high 14-rebound effort on the blocks. Junior forward
Enike Anyia (10 pts., 9 reb.) finished one rebound shy of a double-double, while first-year guard went 3-for-8 from beyond the 3-point arc to finish with nine points in his starting role.
The contest wrapped up the collegiate playing careers of seniors Sanders and
Luke O'Connor -- who took the court for the Green and White on 75 occasions. The duo helped lead Sarah Lawrence to the first two Skyline Conference Championship appearances in program history, including its first-ever tourney victory two nights ago at Manhattanville.
