Loukopoulos, Davis Net 16 Apiece vs. Merchant Marine

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – First-year Demitra Loukopoulos and sophomore Camryn Davis registered 16 points apiece Saturday afternoon at the Campbell Sports Center, as the Sarah Lawrence College women's basketball team dropped a 76-47 decision to visiting U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy defeated Sarah Lawrence, 76-47. Both teams celebrated "Pride on the Court" Day, wearing custom Nike t-shirts during warm-ups.
 
TOP GRYPHON PERFORMERS
Loukopoulos scored five field goals (2-for-5 3FG), and dished out a team-best three assists.

Davis was true on seven field goals, while leading the Gryphons with seven rebounds and three steals.

First-year guard Ana Srdanovic came off the bench to go 4-for-10 from beyond the 3-point arc, and pulled down caroms on the glass.

USMMA, now in a three-way tie for first place atop the Skyline Conference standings, took control of the contest with a 20-4 advantage after the first period behind nine points from Julia Dahlke and seven from Lauren Hunter.

Sarah Lawrence opened the scoring in the second frame on a Jordyn Medina trifecta to pull within 13, and got to within 14 on four more occasions in the first 3-plus minutes, before the Mariners with 11 unanswered points.

SLC received all 12 of Srdanovic's points in the second half of action, with Loukopoulos and Davis collecting 10 points apiece during the latter 20 minutes of play.

For USMMA, Taylor Hightower (12 reb., 9 asst.) and Lauren Hunter (11 reb., 6-of-8 FG) finished with 13 points apiece, while Kathryn Kelley and Kaleigh D'Arcy poured in 11 and 10 markers, respectively.
