SWIM | Gryphons Earn Win in Tri-Meet with West Conn. and SJLI

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College swimming team honored its six seniors prior to its tri-meet with Western Connecticut State and St. Joseph's College of Long Island on Saturday afternoon. The women's team split with its two opponents, defeating WCSU 96-76, then falling to SJLI 101-87. The men's team tied Western Conn. 69-69.  

Chaz Stafford won the 1000 Free with a time of 10:50.00. Frankie Iannuzzi tallied the fastest 200 Free time for the Gryphons, winning the race with a time of 2:11.56. Audrey De Szendeffy was second in the race, earning a time of 2:14.30.
 
Miles Washington won the 50 Free, completing the race in 23.36 seconds.
 
Drew Lei-Alerta was victorious in the 200 Yard IM, tallying a time of 2:22.22. On the men's side Mani Roshandel won the same event with a time of 2:05.18.
 
Lei-Alerta also won the 100 Fly, turning in a time of 1:02.16. Miles Washington won the men's 100 Fly with a time of 58.12.
 
Genevieve Chiappetta placed first in the 100 Yard Backstroke. The sophomore posted a time of 1:07.14. Chaz Stafford won the event as well, recording a time of 1:00.78.
 
Audrey De Szendeffy won the 500 Free with a time of 5:57.89. Frankie Iannuzzi and Claudia Lopez-Ona were finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 Breaststroke. Mani Roshandel won the event for the men.
 
The day ended with both 400 Freestyle Relay teams earning first place finishes in the event.
