BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball team faced off against New Jersey City University on Thursday night. The Gryphons fell to the Gothic Knights 3-0 in straight sets.

How it Happened
NJCU jumped out to a 4-0 advantage early in the first set. SLC cut the deficit to 5-3. The Gryphons stayed within three points for next two rallies, making it 8-5 in favor of the Gothic Knights. NJCU strung together a 7-3 run, growing its edge to five. Sarah Lawrence rallied off three consecutive points, coming to within four. New Jersey City closed out the first set on a 10-3 stint, taking it 25-14.
Nate Davis notched the first point of the second set, recording a kill set up by
Kaille Ferguson. The teams were even at two thanks to a kill from
Davis Mathis.
Mia Rector had the assist. Mathis and Davis had one more kill each in the set. NJCU won the second set 25-12.
The teams were neck-and-neck for the first half of the third set, resulting in an 11-9 score.
Kaille Ferguson tallied a kill for the Gryphons' 10th point of the set, but NJCU was already up by eight at that stage. The Gothic Knights closed out the evening on a 7-5 run, sealing the 25-15 victory and the match.

SLC hosts St. Joseph's Long Island on Saturday, March 27 for a doubleheader. Game one is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and game two is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
