Ashery Honored Prior to Doubleheader Against St. Joseph's Long Island

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Aaron Ashery of the Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball team was honored prior to the Gryphons' doubleheader on Saturday afternoon against St. Joseph's College of Long Island.

Saturday's second contest against the Golden Eagles was the final home match for the junior from Guilderland, N.Y. In the fall of 2021, Ashery will be attending Columbia University to finish out his computer science degree. Upon completion, Ashery will have earned dual-degrees from both Sarah Lawrence College and Columbia University.

Aaron joined the men's volleyball team in 2020. He recorded 54 kills, 89 digs, and four service aces over his two-year career. He was also a member of the men's soccer team, earning Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors in 2018.

Accomplished on the court/field and in the classroom, Ashery was named to the Skyline Academic Honor Roll every year for both soccer and volleyball.

On Saturday March 27, the Gryphons went up against reigning Skyline Conference Champions, St. Joseph's College of Long Island.

In match one, Nate Davis led the team in kills, digs, and points with 16, 11, and 16, respectively. Davis Mathis notched eight assists and Kaille Ferguson had a service ace. The Golden Eagles took the match by a final score of 3-0.

Davis put up 16 kills again in match two, tying for the most kills of the day from anyone on the court. He also had three digs, totaling 18 points all together. Ashery recorded one kill and one dig. St Joseph's won the match 3-0.
