YONKERS, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer team played its third game in five days, going up against Sage College on Saturday night. The Gryphons fell to the Gators 4-1.
"Tough result tonight for our team on what was a better performance than the final score showed," said head coach
Evan Brandsdorfer. "We will use these moments and experiences as we get closer to our conference season. Three games in a week is always a tough task and I believe we are a better team today than when we started the week. Our focus needs to shift to our game on Monday and we need to be ready to turn performances into results."
Sage broke through around the nine-minute mark. Despite getting off eight shots after their first goal, the Gators were held scoreless by the Gryphon defense for the remainder of the half.
Matteo Romano made two saves before Sage found the back of the net again. Two goals in the span of 46 seconds made it a tough hill to climb for SLC. A late Sage own goal cut the deficit to three, cementing the final score.
