BRONX, N.Y. –
Samantha Garcia and
Lynn Rech each scored twice, propelling the Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer team to a 6-1 victory over Lehman College on Saturday afternoon. The win marked the second straight for the Gryphons.
Alexis Valdes notched her first goal of the season, receiving the assist from
Lynn Rech.
Samantha Garcia's first goal was set up by Lanie Cadieux. Then Rech found the back of the net, making it 3-1 in favor of the Gryphons.
Rech was responsible for the fourth goal of the evening. The assists was credited to
Lily Matalus – her second on the young season.
Gracie Jordan netted the first goal of her collegiate career, bringing the score to 5-1. It was the Sam-to-Sam connection for the sixth goal as
Samantha Lungren found
Samantha Garcia who put it home, cementing the score.
