Lynn Rech found the back of the net for the 5th time this season as the Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer team faced off against Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday night. The Gryphons dropped the match to the Scarlett Raiders 3-1.
For Rech, the goal made the first-year forward the fifth leading scorer in the Skyline Conference.
Shots were split 4-2 in favor of the visitor before the game's first goal. Rutgers-Newark broke it open at the 24:28 mark. Exactly 25 seconds later, Rech knotted the score at one, taking advantage of a bouncing ball in the Rutgers-Newark penalty area and finishing with her right foot. The teams went into the break even at one.
The Scarlett Knights recorded two unanswered second-half goals in a span of five minutes, cementing the final score.
