BROOKLYN - The Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team fought hard for five sets, battling the Pratt Institute Cannoneers on Thursday night. SLC dropped the match 3-2.

The Gryphons never trailed in the fist set. Sarah Lawrence built an early 6-1 edge, capitalizing on Pratt's errors. SLC jumped out to another five-point advantage later in the set, going up 18-13 thanks to a
Georgi Massey kill. The Cannoneers knotted the game at 21. The Gryphons closed out the set on a 4-1 run, taking it 25-22.
Sarah Lawrence faced a 5-2 deficit at the beginning of the second set. The Gryphons used a 3-0 rally to close the gap. The teams went back-and-forth for the next 10 points, exchanging small leads. Pratt built a 22-17 margin, carrying its advantage until the final point. The Cannoneers then utilized a 13-0 run in the set four to go up 2-1.
Dropping the match in the fourth set was on the line again for the Gryphons. For the second night in a row, SLC forced a fifth set. Despite falling down 6-2, Sarah Lawrence narrowed the gap to one, then eventually gained a 13-11 lead. The Gryphons maintained the advantage for the remainder of the set, winning it 25-18.
In the final set, the teams were tied twice at 1-1 and at 3-3. From there, the Cannoneers controlled the lead for the rest of the night, earning a 15-9 victory and winning the match.
