FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis team earned it fourth victory of the year, taking down John Jay 7-2 at USTA National Tennis Center on Friday night.
At 4-1, the Gryphons are off to the best start to a season since 2015 when it began the year 5-1.
Isabella Hardman and
Simi Rao got it going for the Gryphons, winning #1 doubles 8-1. SLC earned a win by forfeit in #2 doubles.
A win by forfeit in #1 singles gave Sarah Lawrence a 3-1 advantage. Rao took #2 singles 8-3. In #3 singles,
Sasha Conner battled to an 8-7 victory.
Samantha Nochimson and
Sophie Holmes secured the final victories of the evening for the Gryphons, earning 6-1, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2 triumphs.
