BRONXVILLE, N.Y. –
Kaille Ferguson recorded a career-high 19 kills as the Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team hosted SUNY-Delhi on Saturday afternoon. The Gryphons took the first and fourth set, but the Broncos grabbed the victory, winning the match 3-2.
THE NUMBERS
- Ferguson's 19 kills were also a game-high and the fifth most kills in a match in program history. She also had 22 digs and five service aces in the 24-point performance.
- Georgi Massey finished with nine kills and three assists in her first collegiate start. On the defensive side, she posted 19 digs.
- Skyler Kawecki-Muonio put up eight kills and eight digs.
- Isbela Pecora and Mia Rector combined for 31 assists.
- SLC tallied a higher hitting percentage in two sets.
SET 1 (SLC 25 - DELHI 16)
- Ferguson was on fire in the first set. She was responsible for four of Gryphons' first five points.
- Nine was the largest margin in favor of the Gryphons.
- SLC ended the set on a 4-0 run that included a service ace from Kawecki-Muonio and a kill from Claire Mitchell.
SET 2 (SLC 21 – DELHI 25)
- The Gryphons jumped out to an early 10-4 advantage with Isabel Pecora and Kaille Ferguson accounting for four service aces during the run.
- The Broncos battled back, knotting the score at 12.
- SLC never regained the lead as SUNY-Delhi ended the set with a 13-9 stint.
SET 3 (SLC 21 – DELHI 25)
- Delhi did not trail once in the set.
- The Broncos greatest edge was seven points.
- Massey, Ferguson, and Rector teamed up for six kills for SLC.
SET 4 (SLC 25 – DELHI 21)
- The Gryphons grabbed a 9-4 lead. Kawecki-Muonio had two kills during the run.
- Tabitha Hardin-Zollo served up back-to-back aces, giving SLC a 12-7 margin.
- Delhi narrowed the gap, tying the set at 17, but Sarah Lawrence never trailed, closing out the set on an 8-5 outburst.
SET 5 (SLC 14 – DELHI 16)
- The teams exchanged leads five times.
- The Gryphons held a 14-13 edge.
- The Broncos fired off three straight, taking the set and the match.
