YONKERS, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer team proved that it could play with the best of the best in the Skyline Conference as the Gryphons tied Manhattanville College 0-0 at Fleming Field.
The very physical contest saw both teams called for a combined 23 fouls including a red card on the Valiants in the 50
th minute.
SLC (5-7-3, 1-5-3 Skyline) got a brilliant performance in goal from sophomore
Kian Silva saved eight Manhattanville shots on goal to help preserve the tie and one point in the Skyline Conference standings.
The Valiants (7-4-3, 5-1-2 Skyline) remains in second place in the conference with 17 points and held a 17-11 shots advantage over the Gryphons.
Manhattanville's Trevor Henderson fired off one last shot on goal with less than a minute to play, but Silva was stoic in goal stopping the attempt and clearing the ball as time winded down.
Nicholas Fajardo led SLC with three shot attempts in the final home contest at Fleming Field this season.
