Volleyball Competes in Drew Tri-Match

MADISON, N.J. – Skyler Kawecki-Muonio and Mia Rector collected double-doubles for the Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team despite a 3-0 loss to Montclair State in the second match of the Drew University Tri-Match.
 
SLC dropped the match to Montclair State 25-19, 25-14, 25-15 after having dropped the first match of the day against Drew 25-16, 25-15, 25-15.
 
Kawecki-Muonio turned in a brilliant performance on both sides of the ball against Montclair State as the 5-foot-9 junior outside hitter led the Gryphons with 11 kills and hit at a .263 clip while also scooping up 15 digs.
 
Kawecki-Muonio was the favorite target of Rector against Montclair State as Kawecki-Muonio had 38 attack attempts with just one error all match.
 
Rector finished the second match with 17 assists and 14 digs for her double-double performance.
 
Kaille Ferguson led everyone with 16 digs as Ferguson, Kawecki-Muonio and Rector all had more digs that Montclair State's leading dig performer.
 
In the day's opener, Drew raced out to sizable leads in each of the three sets and SLC just could not recover from despite the all-out effort the team played with on each point.
 
Davis Mathis led the Gryphons in kills against Drew with six while Ferguson kept 10 points alive with digs and Rector added nine assists.

SLC returns to Skyline Conference play with three big matches this week with the first being at Mount Saint Vincent at 7 p.m. EDT on Monday.
