Ferguson leads Women's Volleyball in Match Against St. Joseph's

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Kaille Ferguson's 17-dig, seven-kill performance was not enough as the Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team lost a hard-fought battle at St. Joseph's University-Long Island.

With the 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-11) loss, SLC (12-15, 5-5 Skyline) drops into a tie for sixth in the Skyline Conference standings with Old Westbury with just one match remaining on the conference slate.

SJLI (13-11, 7-3 Skyline) was able to keep the Gryphons a little off kilter with the service game as the Golden Eagles collected 16 service aces in the three set affair.

When the SLC serve-receive game was running like it normally does, the Gryphons were able to get their attackers in correct hitting spots thanks to the play of setter Mia Rector and her 17 assists on the night.

Along with Ferguson with seven kills, Skyler Kawecki-Muonio added seven kills herself to pace the SLC attack.

Claire O'Rourke was able to serve up a trio of access herself to lead the Gryphons.

Kawecki-Muonio and Athena Kazos added 15 and 14 digs, respectively, as SLC was able to keep both of the first two sets close enough to make the Golden Eagles have to work for the victory.
