PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Defense reigned supreme as the Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team dueled St. Joseph's – Long Island to a 0-0 draw at Danzi Stadium.
Kian Silva was staunch in goal for the Gryphons (5-5-2, 1-3-2 Skyline Conference) putting up eight saves including seven in the first half to keep one of the Skyline Conference's more potent offenses off the scoreboard.
Silva, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Arlington, Mass., tallied five saves in the first 27:59 of the game including three during a six-minute span during the opening frame.
The Golden Eagles (6-2-1, 3-1-1 Skyline) held advantages in shots (20-9) and corner kicks (9-2) throughout the match, but the SLC defensive effort was equally as strong to earn a point in the Skyline Conference standings.
First-year forward
