Liam Barry and
Justin Bailey of the Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball team combined for 45 points in the Gryphons' contest with the Farmingdale State College Rams on Tuesday night. SLC fell to FSC 75-63.
Farmingdale jumped out to an 11-4 lead five minutes into the game. A 14-7 run from the Gryphons, featuring buckets from
Justin Bailey,
Xiyuan Zhang, and
Liam Barry, evened the score at 18 with seven minutes to go until the half. Less than two minutes later, Bailey gave the Gryphons their first lead of the night, getting the assist from Barry. SLC maintained a slight edge until the end of the half, entering the locker room up 30-29. Bailey had 16 points.
There were five lead changes in the first two minutes of the second half. Farmingdale held a single-digit advantage for the majority of the half, never surrendering the lead after the 18:10 mark. The margin stretched to 10 with just over four minutes left in the game. A 6-0 spurt, spanning one minute and 27 seconds, from the Gryphons cut the deficit to four at the 3:03 mark. From there, the Rams secured the win, closing out regulation on an 8-0 run.
