BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -
Nate Davis of the Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball team set the program record for kills in a match, recording 35 in the Gryphons matchup against Lehman College on Wednesday night. SLC dropped the match to the Lightning 3-1.
Not only did Davis break the school record, the sophomore also set the record for the most kills in a four-set match in NCAA Division III history, previously set by Alexander Genova of Lesley University on April 4, 2019. (32)
MATCHUP AGAINST LEHMAN
The Gryphons had a chance to take set one, leading 25-24. The Lightning fired off three unanswered points, winning the set 27-25.
SLC won the second set 26-24. Davis had 11 kills, including set point.
Lance De Leoz was on the assist. De Leoz led the team with a career-high 36 assists.
Lehman took sets four and five by scores of 25-16 and 25-20.
