SB | Seniors Honored Before Final Home Game of the Year, Nguyen Fans 12 and Records Two RBI

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College Softball team honored its five seniors: Abigail Weber, Bailey Nguyen, Alison Thorson, Hannah Akin, and Alexa Zartman-Ball before a doubleheader with Mount Saint Mary on Sunday afternoon.

GAME 1
Bailey Nguyen started the game on the mound for the Gryphons. The senior retired the first three batters she faced in the first inning then struck out the side in the second inning. SLC got on the board first in the second inning, scoring two. Mary DeSouza kicked it off with a walk. Ellie O'Brian then reached on an error. Kristin Vargas drew a walk, loading the bases. Hannah Akin put the ball in play, forcing an error by MSMC and bringing home O'Brian. Bailey Nguyen roped a single to right field, picking up her seventh RBI of the season.

MSMC got two back in the top of the third inning then took the lead in the fifth inning. Bailey Nguyen finished with eight strikeouts. An eight-run seventh inning from the Knights cemented the final score.

GAME 2
Nguyen earned another RBI in the first inning of game two, giving her a team-high eight on the season. The senior drove in Kristin Vargas with a sacrifice fly. MSMC erupted for 11 runs in the second inning, carrying its lead until the final out.
