How it Happened

The Gryphons jumped ahead early after Colvin's first goal and seven minutes later they would get ahead by another score off a pass from Matalus. Matalus would strike again on SLC's next goal, finding Grace Carter for a score in the 17th minute. A minute later senior Samantha Lungren would score her second goal of the season as Moor found her in front of the goal for a score. Moor and fellow freshman Beaver teamed up to assist on the next goal, a shot by Viktoria Balbin that found the back of the net to give the Gryphons a five-goal lead. 61 seconds later, Beaver would earn another assist as she found Hannah Chaffin for the sophomore's third goal of the year. The Gryphons would fail to score for 15 minutes, but the next goal would be Beaver's first and only score of the game and her team-leading fifth score of the season. It would be the last first-half goal as they took a 7-0 lead into the intermission. As play resumed, first year Ava Warren would open the second-half scoring with a 55th minute score, her second of the season. The final score of the contest would come with just over 20 minutes left as sophomore Sydney Olken found the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
