BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's swim team fell in the season-opening TYR Sprint Carnival to Bard College, Western Connecticut State University and William Paterson University on Saturday Afternoon. 

Patrick Rau was victorious in the 100 yard breaststroke, beating out the second-place finisher by four whole seconds. Rau also earned a second-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, with an impressive 28.53 opening split.

The 200 yard relay team earned a third-place finish, as Andrew Kim gave the Gryphons a head start and Kaedan Potts, Rau and Peter Miles rounded out the team.

Dylan Bernard took home the win in the 50 yard freestyle, followed by Jozef Kandrac and Peter Olszewski.

The Gryphons will return to the pool next Saturday, October 28th, when they host Purchase College and Fashion Institute of Technology at 1:00 p.m. for their second meet of the season.
