How it Happened

An early-game scoring barrage from Burman helped the Gryphons get ahead to a first-half lead, with the sophomore scoring 18 of his team-high 22 points in the first 20 minutes. The sophomore scored 10 consecutive points for Sarah Lawrence, helping overcome an early 17-12 Manhattanville lead. The San Diego native then connected from long range in the final minute of the half to give the Gryphons a one-point lead heading into the intermission. The second half of play saw the Gryphons struggle from the field and the Valiants heated up, with the hosts shooting 64% from the field in the second half.
