PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's swim team took home a fifth-place finish at this past weekend's Skyline swim championship. Patrick Rau earned top-ten finishes in all of his events and took home two top-five finishes.

Rau took home seventh place in his first event of the day, completing the 500 freestyle in 5:38.03, the first non-US Merchant Marine Academy finisher in the event. The next event that Rau would swim in would be the 100 breaststroke, where the Great Neck, N.Y. product would finish in 10th place, once again behind six USMMA swimmers. Rau finished the event in 1:13.94, besting the next-best finisher by over five seconds. Rau would earn his second-best finish of the day in the 1000 freestyle, completing the event in 11:39.81, once again only behind swimmers from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. To wrap up the event, Rau took home his best finish of the day, finishing in fourth place in the 200 butterfly. Rau's 2:17.59 finish was nearly ten seconds ahead of the fifth-place competitor and he was once again the first to finish as a non-USMMA swimmer.
