BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team had an impressive day at the Campbell Sports Center, sweeping both the City College of New York (CCNY) and Medgar Evers in straight sets.

Athena Kazos led the offense with an outstanding performance, tallying 11 kills on a .333 hitting percentage, while Nikolet Vataj added 15 assists. Valerie Hertig contributed both defensively and offensively with 11 assists and a crucial block. Carolyn Kelly was also instrumental, recording several key kills and a block that disrupted CCNY's attack. The Gryphons used a series of scoring runs, including a six-point streak in the first set that turned a close 7-6 lead into a commanding 13-6 advantage. The  Gryphons' serving was on point, with Kaille Ferguson delivering two service aces, helping them control the pace of the game. In total, Sarah Lawrence managed four team blocks, which stifled CCNY's efforts, especially in the second set.

Match 2: Sarah Lawrence 3, Medgar Evers 0

In their second match of the day, the Gryphons swept Medgar Evers with scores of 25-14, 25-9, and 25-20. The team's blocking efforts were key, as Jenna Lehnhart and Valerie Hertig recorded a block each to shut down Medgar Evers' offensive plays. The Gryphons unleashed several impressive scoring runs, including a dominant 12-point streak in the first set behind strong serving from Kelly and a stretch of kills by Kazos. In the second set, Sarah Lawrence went on an early 5-1 run that kept Medgar Evers on the defensive.
