Four Goal-Scorers propel Women's Soccer over Old Westbury

WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's soccer team took down the Panthers of Old Westbury on Tuesday afternoon as four different Gryphons found the back of the net as they took down the Panthers 5-0 to end the regular season.

Notable Performers
  • Sophomore Chloe Barker added two more scores to her season resume, bringing her total to 14 on the season
  • Senior Cora Colvin ended her SLC regular-season career with three first-half assists
  • Sophomore Sydney Atherley scored her fourth goal of the season and added an assist
  • Viktoria Balbin and Alexis Valdes each also added a score for the Gryphons
  • Arwen Browne played all 90 minutes in goal for SLC without facing a shot

How it Happened

The Gryphons got going early, as Balbin's score came in the second minute, taking a Cora Colvin pass and finding the back of the net for the eventual game-winner. Colvin then found Atherley seven minutes later as the Gryphons built up a 2-0 lead before passing the 10-minute mark. Colvin would find her third and final teammate of the half for a score in the 17th minute, as Barker would score her first of the day to give SLC a 3-0 lead that would hold into the intermission. The second half would be much of the same, with Barker finding the back of the net once again, this time from Madeline Moor. The seventh and final goal would once again come via an assist by Moor, this time with Atherley assisting as well and senior Alexis Valdes finding the back of the net for the score.
