JAMAICA, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team used five second-half goals by a trio of Gryphons to defeat the York College Cardinals by a score of 5-0. The Gryphons returned to Bronxville with their second victory of the season as they prepare for Skyline play to start next week.

- Peter Miles scored a pair of goals, one unassisted and one via a Leon Bronshvag pass
- Connor Saul scored unassisted in the 72nd minute to help extend SLC's lead
- Ayden Wrye scored his first two collegiate goals in the 79th and 87th minutes, both assisted by Aidan Roney
- All three keepers saw the field for SLC, with Elijah Shohat shutting down the Cardinals in the first half before Zalis and Freed combined to complete the shutout in the second

The first breakthrough came in the 56th minute when Miles found the back of the net for the first time, opening the scoring for the Gryphons. Miles was at it again just seven minutes later, scoring his second goal of the day with an assist from Bronshvag in the 63rd minute. Saul further extended the lead with a goal in the 72nd minute, making it 3-0, as the Gryphons continued their relentless attack. Wrye then stepped up with a brace of his own, scoring twice in the final 12Â minutes. His first goal came in the 79th minute, assisted by Roney, and he sealed the game with another goal, again assisted by Roney, in the 87th minute. York couldn't manage to respond to SLC's second half scoring barrage as the Gryphons remained ahead from the 56th minute on.

The Gryphons (2-4) will open their Skyline slate on Wednesday as they take on the Yeshiva University Maccabees at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, N.Y. The game will kick-off at 8:00 p.m. as the Gryphons look to spoil YU's 2-0-1 start to their conference slate.
