How it Happened
In the opening set, the Gryphons stormed ahead behind a dominant serving run from Nikolet Vataj, who recorded back-to-back aces and several kills from Athena Kazos, Olivia Richard, and Eve Iceton. Sarah Lawrence's offense, directed by Sophia Costa, built an early double-digit lead and never looked back, closing the set 25–10 on consecutive kills from Richard.
The second set saw more of the same as the Gryphons overwhelmed Yeshiva from the service line. Richard opened with two straight aces, and Kazos added three more later in the frame while Vataj and Jenna Lehnhart powered the attack at the net. Costa continued to distribute the ball efficiently, helping SLC pull away for a 25–6 win to take a commanding 2–0 lead.
Sarah Lawrence sealed the sweep in the third set with a complete team effort. Vataj led the charge with multiple kills, while Kazos and Carolyn Kelly added strong finishes. Alex Pantoliano provided the spark late, delivering four consecutive service aces during a 9–0 run that put the match out of reach before closing the frame 25–11 with another ace.
