How it Happened

Sarah Lawrence faced CCNY and continued their strong play of late, putting up an impressive performance. The team opened with a commanding first set, as Davis led the charge with six kills, while Aiden Roney and Dreger added valuable offensive contributions. The Gryphons jumped out to a 6-0 lead, forcing an early timeout from CCNY. Service pressure played a big role in their success, with Buckley and Xie delivering multiple aces to keep CCNY off balance. Ralph Calle-Schulz's well-timed kills helped extend the lead, and Sarah Lawrence closed out the first set with a convincing 25-13 win.
The second set showcased more of the team's defensive resilience. Dreger's blocking at the net helped neutralize CCNY's attack while Xie controlled the back row with smart passing, setting up Davis and Buckley for timely kills. With steady execution, the Gryphons secured the set 25-18. In the final set, Sarah Lawrence maintained its composure. Davis continued his dominant play, adding six more kills to his tally. Roney and Dreger sealed the victory with timely plays at the net, and Xie's setting continued to be a key factor. The Gryphons completed the sweep with a 25-16 win, marking another strong three-set win.
Against York (NY), the Gryphons came out strong, led by Nate Davis, who delivered a powerful offensive showing. On the defensive end, Nathan Dreger played a crucial role in limiting York's attack.
