BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's tennis team opened their 2025 campaign with a home matchup against Albertus Magnus on Saturday after Thursday's match at Lehman College was postponed due to weather. The Gryphons fell to the Falcons 2-5 on Saturday, but first year
Jules Voorhoeve earned his first collegiate victory while senior
Simon Kopecky started his senior season off with a win in the first singles flight.
The Gryphons fell in all three doubles flights to lose the point, but Kopecky and fellow senior
Dylan Bernard played a tight 5-7 match against Albertus's top pair. Voorhoeve and
Nikita Knecht teammed up in the second flight but fell 6-3 to the pair from the Falcons. Noah Morely returned for the first match of his sophomore season, and doubles partner
Max Gleason's first collegiate appearance resulted in a 6-4 defeat. As mentioned, Kopecky thrived in singles play, winning in straight sets by scores of 6-4, 6-2 against Albertus's Diego Martinez.
Avery Romano's first match with the Gryphons ended with a close 5-7 defeat, a good showing for a collegiate debut. Voorhoeve earned the team's second win of the day in the third flight, winning 6-3, 6-3 to start off his SLC career on a good note. Bernard took the court for his singles match in the fourth flight, falling 6-1, 6-2, similarly to
