MAHWAH, N.J. - The Sarah Lawrence men's volleyball team kicked off a five-match road trip with a rematch against the Roadrunners of Ramapo on Tuesday evening. The Gryphons fell in three sets to the currently third-seeded hosts.
Notable Performers
- Nate Davis led the team with 12 kills after earning player of the week honors
- Alex Xie's 20 assists and five digs were both team highs
- Nathan Dreger totaled five kills and three digs in the loss
How it Happened
The first set was all Ramapo, with an 11-2 mid-set run paving the way for a 25-12 victory to kick off the match. The second would start with the hosts once again asserting themselves, this time via a 9-2 lead. The Gryphons would fight back, as Dreger, Davis,
Jackson Perhaes and
Lucas Buckley all registered kills, but it would not be enough as the Roadrunners took a 2-0 lead in the match. The Gryphons flipped the script in the third set, with a trio of early kills by Davis leading the way to a 6-3 advantage. After remaining neck-and-neck with the hosts, a late 5-0 run by the Roadrunners gave them match point at 24-19 before a kill secured the three-set victory.
Up Next
