BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence softball team celebrated a trio of graduating seniors before Saturday's season-ending doubleheader against Farmingdale State. The Gryphons honored seniors

Notable Performers
- Malia Rode scored the team's lone run, along with a nice defensive play at shortstop, ranging to her right in game two
- Kyra Johnsen reached base in each game, while tossing all five innings for SLC in game one
- Shirin Pechefsky threw all five innings of the second game, striking out a pair
How it Happened
Game one started with a scoreless inning, as a leadoff single was stranded after a hard hit line drive to third base was turned into a double play as Pechefsky caught the runner at first. Johnsen then forced a flyout to right field as Collins made the catch to keep the Rams scoreless on her senior day. The Gryphons went in order in the bottom of the first, but both offenses would get going in the second. The Rams started off hot, with their first nine batters of the inning reaching base thanks to a slew of walks and a bases-clearing double. After an RBI-groundout to give the visitors eight runs, the Gryphons would keep them from doing any further damage and headed into the bottom half of the frame. Rode started off the inning with a double to left center field before stealing third and eventually scoring on an FSC error. A trio of strikeouts from Farmingdale's starter would keep the Gryphons from doing any more damage and hold the lead at 8-1. The Rams would take on a pair of runs in each of the following two innings to bring the lead to 12-1 before a single score in the fifth gave them a 13-1 advantage. The Gryphons went down in order to close out the fifth, giving the visitors a 13-1 victory in the front end of the double header.
Game two saw the Gryphons struggle at the plate, as Farmingdale's Madison DeMaio earned her 20th win of the season, the third most in the nation. The Rams got going in the first inning of game two, with a pair of RBI base-hits plating a pair of runs. Once again, the second inning would be the breakout frame for the Rams, as the team added on seven more scores, highlighted by a two-run home run down the left field line that snuck over the fence. The visitors tacked on three more runs in the following two innings, shutting down the Gryphons for a 12-0 lead and their 15th conference victory of the season.
The Gryphons wrap up the 2025 season with a 3-30 record, losing the aforementioned trio of seniors to graduation but returning key contributors across the diamond. Pechefsky will return for her senior campaign, with Rode Boissonnault both heading into year two with the team after a pair of strong debuts.
