YONKERS, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team got an early score from senior
Peter Miles in Saturday's Skyline Conference opener against Farmingdale State. The Gryphons and Rams tied at one goal apiece after a second-half equalizer from the visitors.
Notable Performers
- Miles scored his fourth goal of the season after Leon Bronshvag found him shortly after a corner kick opportunity
- Bronshvag's assist was his first of the season, following up his brace last time out
- Jonah Zalis played all 90 minutes in goal, making seven saves in the draw
How it Happened
Miles found the back of the night in the fifth minute after Bronshvag found him inside the box for a header. The Gryphons maintained a lead throughout the first half, as Zalis made three saves and the Gryphons held the Rams to just three shots on goal. The visitors pressured Zalis immediately out of the half, with a top shelf shot deflected away by the sophomore in the 47th minute. Just seconds later, Farmingdale's Josue Granados got his own rebound after another save by Zalis, putting the second opportunity past the SLC keeper for an equalizer. Both teams had quality looks down the stretch, but both keepers stood tall and kept the game knotted at one goal apiece through the final horn.
