Bella Vaca was under pressure all game, making 11 saves on 13 shots faced for SLC. The team will return to New York for their 2025 Skyline home opener on Wednesday against Mount Saint Mary College.

How it Happened
The Gryphons and Violets played 31 minutes of scoreless soccer to start the contest, thanks to a half dozen saves by Vaca. The Violets would break through in the 32nd minute, as Leah Berg found the top left corner to give the hosts a one-goal advantage. Vaca would turn away the next three shots on goal by NYU, keeping the score at 1-0 heading into the halftime intermission. Just over two minutes into the second half, the Violets would get a penalty kick opportunity and convert to add an insurance score. The SLC defense would allow just three shots on goal for the remainder of the game, with Vaca and Zamora combining to keep the hosts from adding to their lead. Balbin's shot in the 69th minute would be turned away by NYU goalkeeper Maddy Tohanczyn, who combined with starting keeper Mia Capo to record a clean sheet.
