How it Happened
The Gryphons set the tone early by controlling possession and generating consistent pressure on the Cougars' back line. After several close chances, Saul broke the deadlock in the 18th minute by calmly converting a penalty kick, giving SLC the early momentum. Just seven minutes later, the lead was doubled when Bronshvag finished a setup from Monaco Collins, making it 2–0. Sarah Lawrence's offensive pressure forced the Medgar Evers goalkeeper to stay busy throughout the first half, and the Gryphons entered the break with a comfortable advantage.
The second half followed a similar pattern, as Sarah Lawrence continued to dictate the pace of play and create opportunities. In the 51st minute, Soloman extended the lead to 3–0 with a well-placed strike, effectively putting the match out of reach. Throughout the later stages of the game, the Gryphons remained in command, and Monaco Collins sealed the result with an 81st-minute goal to round out a strong all-around performance. Goalkeepers
Elijah Shohat and
Joseph Vaca combined to preserve the clean sheet, supported by a back line that limited Medgar Evers to few meaningful chances.
