FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team wrapped up the first half of their Skyline schedule with a road win over the Rams of Farmingdale State. The Gryphons moved to 10-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play after Thursday's win, both program-best marks. The team will start the second half of the conference slate on Sunday as they host Yeshiva.

How it Happened
The game started with a brief 3-2 Farmingdale lead before a triple by
Colleen Coughlin put the Gryphons up just 54 seconds into the contest. The lead would stay with the visitors for the remainder of the contest. The Gryphons continued to score throughout the first frame, with a second-chance score by
Jade Ling Eng-Stewart putting the team up 19-11 with 1:49 left. The Rams ended the quarter on a 5-0 run, closing the gap to three points after 10 minutes of play. Another Coughlin triple started the second frame, while Theriault got going on the offensive end to the tune of 10 second-quarter points. Hudson also maintained her momentum, bringing her scoring total to 14 points with a last-second score that put the Gryphons up 46-30 at the intermission.
The third quarter was another solid effort from the Gryphons, despite going scoreless for the first two-and-a-half minutes. Theriault ended the frought with a three-point play before both teams went scoreless for nearly two minutes. The teams both continued struggling from the field until Moore stuck a triple with 3:11 to play, getting to the line as well and converting for a four-point play that put SLC up 55-35. Ariana Spanopoulos sunk a pair of free throws each, sending the Gryphons into the final frame with a 22-point advantage. The Rams found some momentum to start the fourth, taking seven straight points before a Theriault score to end the run. The Rams continued to surge, with a pair of Theriault scores answering, but a triple from Moore seemed to be the dagger with 2:58 remaining, putting SLC up 71-53. The Rams did not give in, taking the next ten points and closing the gap to just eight points with 19 seconds remaining, but would not get any closer as a last-minute
Kaila Dorch layup sealed the win and gave the Gryphons their tenth victory of the season.

The Gryphons (10-5, Skyline 7-3) will return to action on Sunday as they host Yeshiva for a noon matchup in Bronxville. The Gryphons took down the Maccabees by a score of 84-58 in December and will look to complete the season sweep as they kick off the second half of the 2025-26 conference schedule.
