How it Happened
The Gryphons set the tone early with a strong blocking and balanced offense, taking the opening set 25-18. Miller anchored the net defensively with multiple blocks, while Cahill and Xie combined to keep Pratt off balance as Sarah Lawrence gradually built separation in the middle stages of the set before closing it out behind a late service ace from Aidan Roney and a Miller kill.
The second set proved to be the most competitive of the afternoon, featuring several lead changes and extended rallies. Sarah Lawrence responded to Pratt runs with timely points, including kills from Ethan Look and Cahill, as well as key blocks from Miller that halted momentum. With the score tied late, the Gryphons showed composure in crunch time, using a service ace by Theo Black and a solo block by Cahill to pull away and claim the set 26-24.
Sarah Lawrence carried that momentum into the third set, racing out to an early advantage behind strong serving from Xie and Kairos Diaz and continued efficiency at the net. The Gryphons steadily widened the gap, with Miller and Cahill converting key points and Jackson Perhaes adding pressure from the service line. Pratt attempted to mount a late response, but Sarah Lawrence remained in control, closing the match with a service error by the Cannoneers to seal the 25-15 third-set win and complete the sweep.
