Women's Basketball Wraps up Historic Season with Postseason Matchup against Knights

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team wrapped up a historic 2025-26 season with a Skyline First Round matchup at Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday night. The Gryphons fell by a score of 82-53 to the third-seeded Knights, capping off a tremendous season filled with program records and standout performances.

Notable Performers How it Happened

The Knights demonstrated why they are the Skyline's reigning championships from the onset, scoring the game's first 14 points before a second-chance score by Hudson got the Gryphons on the board. Theriault joined in on the action, scoring the team's next eight points before a last-minute Hudson layup sent the Gryphons into the second quarter trailing 24-12. Kaila Dorch joined in on the scoring effort in the second quarter, but the Knights would continue to pour in points of their own. Eng-Stewart scored in transition while Samantha Pape also got on the board as the Gryphons tried to get back into the contest. Two more Eng-Stewart scores and a Hudson jumper ended the half with a 6-2 SLC run, but the Knights led 42-26 at the break. Long-range connections by Theriault and Hudson in the third allowed the Gryphons to chip away at the lead, but a 13-0 run by the hosts to end the quarter put the Gryphons down by 31 with ten minutes remaining. Eng-Stewart, Colleen Coughlin and Theriault all added fourth-quarter scores, before Audrey Mattison and Kendall Stephens found the bottom of the net to wrap up the program's first postseason contest.
