Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's tennis team took the doubles point and got a fourth-singles victory from senior
Leon Bronshvag before ultimately falling to the hosting Panthers by a score of 2-5. The Gryphons will return to action on Wednesday for a rescheduled match against Pratt.
The Gryphons started the day with a win in doubles play, overcoming a 6-2 loss in first singles by
Jules Voorhoeve and Bronshvag with a 6-4 victory by
Clayton Miller and
Jozef Kandrac in the second flight and a 6-3 win by
Avery Romano-Villani and
Benjamin Berkson in the third. Miller and Voorhoeve occupied the top two spots in SLC's singles lineup, falling in straight sets despite competitive points for both. Romano-Villani followed suit with a 1-6, 2-6 defeat at third singles before Bronshvag earned a decisive 6-3, 6-1 victory to give the team a second point on the day.
Aidan Roney fell 0-6, 1-5 in the fifth flight before the Cannoneers took sixth singles to wrap up a 5-2 victory.
