BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — The Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team has unveiled its 2026 schedule, with the Gryphons set to open the season on Tuesday, September 1, at Vassar College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Sarah Lawrence will host its home opener two days later, welcoming Pratt Institute to the Campbell Sports Center on Thursday, September 3, at 7:00 p.m.

The Gryphons enter the 2026 campaign looking to build on three consecutive .500-or-better seasons. Sarah Lawrence finished 2025 with a 14-14 overall record and a 7-4 mark in Skyline Conference play. The Gryphons earned the No. 5 seed in the Skyline Conference Championship and opened postseason play with a five-set victory over No. 4 Farmingdale State. Sarah Lawrence advanced to the semifinals, where it fell to top-seeded Manhattanville, the eventual conference champion.

The 2026 season marks the beginning of a new era for the Gryphons, who will be led by first-year head coach Mauro Miletic. Miletic most recently served as head coach of the Manhattan University Division I program from 2022 through 2026 and was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2023.

Sarah Lawrence returns several key contributors from last season, including two-time conference selection and 2024 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year Nikolet Vataj. The junior outside hitter tallied 279 kills and 321.5 points in 2025, averaging 2.97 kills per set. She also recorded 38 service aces and 264 digs.

Sophia Costa also returns to direct the Gryphons' offense. The sophomore setter recorded 717 assists last season, averaging 8.06 per set, and earned second-team All-Skyline Conference honors in her first collegiate season. Costa added 38 service aces and 212 digs in 2025.

At the net, sophomore middle blocker Olivia Richard returns after leading the Gryphons with 46.0 blocks last season, including a team-high nine solo blocks.

The Gryphons also look to continue their success in the classroom as well. Sarah Lawrence was recognized with an AVCA Team Academic Award following the 2025 season after posting a team grade-point average of at least 3.3. Four Gryphons earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, including returning student-athletes Milly Guemple and Vataj.
