YONKERS, N.Y. — Senior
Katey Beaver recorded a 10-point performance to lead the Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer team to an 11-0 victory over Skyline Conference foe Yeshiva University in the Gryphons' 2026 season opener.
Sarah Lawrence (1-0) dominated from the opening whistle, outshooting Yeshiva (0-1), 45-0, including a 29-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Gryphons also held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks. Yeshiva goalkeeper Rena Neiger kept the Maccabees within reach early, finishing the contest with 18 saves, including 13 in the opening half.
Beaver led the offensive attack with four goals and two assists in 62 minutes, finishing with eight shots and six shots on goal. Chloe Baker and
Phoebe Workman each added two goals, while
Giuliana Sheehan,
Emma Mangan, and
Whitney Erickson each found the back of the net once.
Six Gryphons recorded assists, led by Beaver and
Nicaia Sharp with two apiece.
Charlotte Callicott,
Zoey Barth,
Sadie Colvin, and Erickson also contributed assists.
The Gryphons wasted little time establishing control. Sheehan opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finding the back of the net off a rebound. After five more Sarah Lawrence shots, Beaver doubled the advantage in the 16th minute before adding her second goal of the evening in the 22nd minute.
The Gryphons continued to apply pressure late in the opening half, scoring three times over the final six minutes. Baker, Workman, and Erickson each found the back of the net to send Sarah Lawrence into halftime with a commanding 6-0 lead.
Sarah Lawrence continued its offensive onslaught after the break. Workman scored her second goal in the 47th minute before Beaver completed her hat trick in the 50th minute. Beaver struck again four minutes later to give the Gryphons an 8-0 advantage.
Mangan pushed the lead into double digits with a goal in the 65th minute, while Baker capped the scoring in the 68th minute with her second goal of the night.
The victory marked Sarah Lawrence's third consecutive double-digit win over Yeshiva and its 10th straight victory over the Maccabees.
The Gryphons return to action Friday, Sept. 4, traveling to Albertus Magnus College for a non-conference matchup scheduled for 7 p.m.
